The monthly grid
The monthly grid is your whole team's attendance on one screen — everyone down the side, every day of the month across the top. It's where you check the month, fix anything wrong, and lock it for payroll.
Open it from Attendance in the sidebar. Use the month controls to move between months.
Reading the grid
Each person is a row (with their name pinned on the left); each day is a cell. A coloured dot tells you the day's status at a glance:
- Green — present.
- Blue — paid leave. A small code such as
CLorELnames the leave type. - Red — loss of pay: an absence or unpaid leave.
- Grey — a week-off or holiday (nobody was expected in).
- A hollow circle — not marked yet.
Half-days show as a split dot — one colour for the worked half, another for the unpaid or leave half. Each row also carries a small LWP chip in the name column showing that person's confirmed loss-of-pay days for the month, so you can spot who needs attention without scanning every cell.
Marking a day
Click a cell and a small menu opens: Present, Half day, Absent, Leave, or Clear. Choosing Leave or Half day opens a second step to pick the leave type, and each type shows the person's live balance (for example "12 left"). A paid type with no balance left is greyed out — use the Unpaid option instead, which records loss of pay.
Marking a leave here creates an approved single-day leave and deducts the balance, just as if the person had applied. Clearing that cell puts the balance back.
Bulk mode
To mark many cells at once, switch on bulk mode. You can multi-select cells or drag across a range, then set them all to the same status in one action — handy for a whole team on a shutdown day.
Bulk mode handles plain statuses — present, absent, half-day, and clear. To book leave, mark cells one at a time (or have the employee apply), so balances are checked per person.
Export and import
- Export CSV downloads the month's grid as a spreadsheet.
- Import CSV lets you upload a filled-in sheet — useful if attendance is tracked elsewhere or on paper.
One person's detail
Click a name (or a row) to open that person's month. It shows a calendar of their days, a summary (present, absent, leave, loss of pay, overtime, late), and their punch records with clock-in and clock-out times.
Finalizing the month
When the month is correct, click Finalize Month.
Finalizing is the gate before payroll. It locks the month and produces the summary payroll reads — days worked, loss-of-pay days, and overtime hours. You can't run payroll for a month until it's finalized. Any days you left unmarked on past working days become loss of pay when you finalize, so mark or clear them first.
Need to fix something after finalizing? Click De-finalize to unlock the month, make your corrections, and finalize again. Do this before payroll runs — once pay is processed, changing attendance won't retro-fix it on its own.
If you pay overtime with approval and any overtime requests are still pending, Webelio warns you before finalizing — finalizing rejects those pending requests automatically, so approve the ones that should be paid first.
