Self-onboarding
Instead of typing in a new person's details yourself, you can let them do it. You send an invite, they complete a short wizard, and you review and confirm. This keeps their data accurate and saves you the data entry.
This page is for you, the admin. The version your employees see is at getting started as an employee.
How it starts
You invite someone from Invite for one person, or bulk invite for many — see adding employees and bulk import. The person receives a link to their onboarding wizard.
What the employee fills in
The wizard walks them through, one step at a time:
- Personal — name, date of birth, gender, contact details.
- Address — home address.
- IDs — PAN, and their statutory numbers such as Aadhaar and the Provident Fund number (UAN) where they have them.
- Bank — bank name, account number, and IFSC code for their pay.
- Documents — uploads such as ID proof and past payslips.
- Review — they check everything and submit to HR.
They can only submit once every required field is filled, so what reaches you is complete.
Reviewing and confirming
When someone submits, their record appears in your employees list marked for review, and their profile shows an onboarding-review card with everything they entered.
- Open the profile and read through each section — personal, address, IDs, bank, and documents.
- Correct anything that looks off (you can edit before confirming).
- Confirm to accept the submission.
Once confirmed, the person becomes a normal active employee. You can then set their compensation and finish anything self-onboarding doesn't cover, such as their salary structure.
Self-onboarding collects the person's own details. It does not set their pay — you decide compensation after confirming, so salary stays with HR.
