Holidays & leave settings

Where you keep your yearly holiday list and the rules behind every kind of leave.

Holidays

Settings → Holidays is your holiday calendar, with a year stepper at the top and an Add Holiday button.

Each holiday is one entry with an "Applies to" scope — you don't keep a separate calendar per branch. By default a holiday applies to everyone; narrow it with any mix of:

ScopeMatchesExample
StateThe state of the employee's work locationA regional festival in one state only
BranchA specific work locationA one-off local holiday
DepartmentA specific teamAn IT-only offsite day
Employment typeFull-time, contract, and so onA perk for permanent staff only

Leave a scope empty to mean "all". Set two scopes and an employee must match both. A state-scoped holiday automatically covers future branches you open in that state.

The type label (National, State, Company, Optional) is informational — the scope arrays do the real work of deciding who gets the day off.

DateThe holiday date
NameWhat it's called

tip

Add your national holidays with no scope so they reach everyone, then add regional ones scoped to a state. Use the "Show for branch" preview to check what a given branch will see before you finish.

Because holidays follow the work location's state, an employee's holiday list matches where they work, not where they live — and it shows automatically on their employee portal calendar.

Leave Settings

Settings → Leave Settings holds the rules for every leave type — the same thing you first configured in the wizard. This is a reference of what's there; the full walkthrough is on leave types and policies.

Webelio seeds a starter set at signup:

TypeDefault quotaHow it's earnedCarry forwardEncashable
Casual Leave (CL)12Given upfront each yearNoNo
Earned Leave (EL)18Earned month by monthYesYes
Sick Leave (SL)12Given upfront each yearNoNo
Compensatory Off (CO)0Granted by HR for extra workNoNo
Unpaid Leave (LWP)0Used when balance runs out

For each type you can change the yearly quota, how it accrues (all at once, monthly, or quarterly), whether unused days carry forward or lapse at year-end, whether they can be encashed, and application limits. You can add your own types (like Maternity or Paternity, which can be scoped to one gender).

warning

Comp-Off (CO) and Unpaid Leave (LWP) are built-in and can't be deleted or switched off — Webelio needs them to grant time off for extra work and to handle days taken beyond a person's balance.

Per-employee quotas, year-end carry-forward, and comp-off grants are managed under Leave Management, not here — this tab sets the org-wide policy.
