Leave settings
Set which kinds of leave your staff can take and how many days of each they get in a year. Webelio comes with sensible defaults, so this step can be quick.
Leave settings are step 6 of the setup wizard, and are edited later under Settings → Leave. For the full detail behind everything here, see leave types and policies.
What comes ready
Every new company is seeded with three common leave types, so you can start without configuring anything:
| Type | Code | Default yearly allowance |
|---|---|---|
| Casual Leave | CL | 12 days |
| Earned Leave | EL | 18 days |
| Sick Leave | SL | 12 days |
Two more types work behind the scenes and can't be removed: Compensatory Off (CO), for staff who work on a holiday or week-off, and Unpaid Leave (LWP), which is where days go once a paid balance runs out.
Adjusting allowances
- In the wizard, open Leave Settings (later: Settings → Leave).
- For each leave type, set the yearly allowance — how many days an employee gets per year.
- Add or remove your own leave types if the defaults don't fit.
- Save.
You can also decide, per type, whether unused days carry forward to next year or lapse, and whether leftover days can be encashed. The defaults are set up so Earned Leave carries forward and can be encashed, while Casual and Sick leave reset each year — a common Indian pattern.
The allowances you set here are the company default. When you add an employee, they inherit these, but you can give an individual a different allowance on their profile — useful for senior staff or special arrangements.
